Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What types of books does Write Wisdom specialize in?

We specialize in books that capture your voice, values, and life story. Our clients have included CEOs and corporate founders, philanthropists, couples documenting their shared journey, families honoring a loved one’s legacy, military veterans, inventors, physicians, opera singers, Holocaust survivors, and prisoners of war. If you have a story worth telling, we know how to tell it.

Books of 250–300 pages usually take 12–18 months, depending on the number of agreed-upon drafts. We will develop a timeline with benchmarks. Please note that momentum is a key to success.

Q. Do you conduct research beyond our interviews?

Yes. We conduct independent research as needed to support, verify, and enrich your narrative.

Q. Should I include photographs?

Absolutely — we strongly recommend it. Photos bring your story to life and give readers a visual connection to your world. We’ll work with you to curate the best images, and typically recommend 40-60 photographs strategically placed throughout the book.

Poems, lyrics, and other copyrighted material can be used with written permission. The owner of the copyright may require payment of a fee.

The client is credited as the author of a book. If you so choose, a Write Wisdom writer may serve as a co-writer.

We can provide our clients with a menu of alternative ways in which your book can be published, present the costs of each alternative, and the likelihood of success. We will provide you with a list of advantages and disadvantages. We will also give you a list of book publicists, since most publishing companies outside of the “Big Five” have limited resources to push your book. We strongly urge you to take advantage of social media and find ways to be featured guests on podcasts that focus on the themes of your book.
