The Road Taken: Men, Motorcycles, and Me

Linda Dodwell was born in Hackensack, New Jersey. Her father was a motorcycle policeman, and his mode of transportation inspired her. After graduating from Princeton High School, she was awarded a registered nurse’s degree. After marrying a Princeton and Yale Law grad, she followed him to the West Coast. Her husband became a major force in the retail brokerage business, granting them a luxurious lifestyle.

The pair brought up one daughter; in her spare time, Linda earned a degree at the San Francisco Art Institute. After she divorced her husband and became an “empty-nester,” she took up the motorcycle, traveled the world, ran a touring company in Australia, and competed in the “Peking-to-Paris” 1997 car rally. Linda’s mantra is: Sometimes you have to leave home to find yourself.” She now lives outside San Francisco in a remodeled home showcasing her incredible lifestyle.
